Top 5 strikers above 30

  • TheFootballLovers has compiled a list of top 5 strikers above 30.
  • Recently, we have seen some players defying the laws of mother nature to continue performing at the highest level of football regardless of their age.
  • Age is just a number in football. It doesn’t define the quality of a player.
  • Their age might suggest that they’re near the end of the careers but they continue to cut above the rest.

Note: Players who prefer playing on the wing are not included in this list.

List of top 5 strikers above 30

5. Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)

Sergio Aguero has been one of the finest strikers on the planet. He has been consistent with his form on the blue side of Manchester for 10 years and running.

In his 10 years at Manchester City, Aguero has scored 180 goals in 263 appearances. Though he missed some part of last season with an injury, the Argentinian was excellent in front of goal and scored 24 goals from 34 appearances across all competitions.

He is 32 now, but it still seems like has a lot left in his tank.

4. Zlatan Ibrahimovic (AC Milan)

38 and counting, ibrahimovic

The Swedish international is an absolute machine at his age. While he is on his way to reach his forties, Ibrahimovic has scored an impressive 53 goals in 58 games for LA Galaxy.

He joined AC Milan as a free agent in January 2020, scoring 10 goals in 18 matches for the Italian side. Ibrahimovic is 38 years old now but it’s surprising to see the stats he puts up!

One thing for sure, though, is that it’s never boring when Ibrahimovic is in town.

3. Luis Suarez (FC Barcelona)

Luis Suarez has been amazing throughout his career, especially at Barcelona and Liverpool. He may not be at his prime anymore, but he is still one of the deadliest goal-getters in the world.

Suarez scored 21 goals in 34 appearances across the La Liga and the UEFA Champions League last season. At 33-years-old, he looks like he might have a few more years in him.

2. Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)

Karim Benzema, 32-years-old, has been a consistent goal-getter for Real Madrid for many years. He has had his ups and downs over the past few seasons but his performances in the last season alone are enough to show that even at 32-years-old, he remains one of the top strikers in the world.

He played a vital role in Madrid’s success in La Liga last season. Karim Benzema scored 26 goals and racked up 10 assists across all competitions and was arguably Real Madrid’s best player – as they clinched their 34th La Liga title.

1. Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich)

Robert Lewandowski

It would be an understatement to say that Robert Lewandowski just got robbed off a Ballon d’Or. He was performing insanely and there wasn’t even going to be much of a debate about it.

At 32 years of age, he won the treble with Bayern Munich; winning the Bundesliga, the Champions League, and the DFB Pokal cup. He was also the top goal scorer in all the competitions, even surpassing the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Lewandowski scored a whopping 55 goals from 47 appearances for Bayern Munich in the 2019/20 season. He scored 15 goals in 10 Champions League appearances and was virtually unstoppable in the competition.

The Polish international is easily the best striker in the business right now. Even at his age, he is getting goals more than the players of young age. It will be interesting to see how long he can keep this up.
